Animals and Dinosaur Tracks

Doug called us on a Friday afternoon and surprised us by coming home early and taking us on a little getaway.  We went to Glen Rose,TX. We left during Amos' nap but he did not want to sleep.  When I asked him to close his eyes, he gave me a cute reaction.  The boys did great on our 2 hour drive and were very excited to get to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park to see the animals.
We all loved the wildlife park.  The boys love seeing all the animals so close and being able to feed them.  We all fed a giraffe from our hands, which was a fun experience.  Amos got a little nervous when the giraffe got too close to him. It was a little nerve racking seeing all those animals with large horns so close to the car.  Dallin was so excited to see the cheetahs and rhinos.  It was fun to see how excited the boys were to see all the animals.
After dinner we checked into our hotel and the boys had so much fun going swimming with Daddy.  Dallin is becoming a good swimmer.  When everyone was ready for bed, we had treats and popcorn while we watched Cars.  Amos loves that movie but he was the first to fall asleep.
The next day we headed to Dinosaur Valley State Park to see the dinosaur footprints.  We had so much fun going on a little hike and seeing where the dinosaurs walked.  The boys loved playing in the water and were very good hikers.
When we were done seeing the dinosaur tracks we let the boys play at the playground for a little bit.  Amos got excited when he saw the dinosaur statues so we stopped to see them up close before we left the park.  We had such a fun little getaway and it was so nice to spend time together as a family after Doug had been so busy with work.
