October 2012

*We spent the beginning of the month getting as ready for baby as we could.  Some ladies from the ward threw a baby shower for Melissa and the baby.
*Amos rode his tractor to the bus stop and he loved when Dallin would come home from school.
*Melissa and Amos met Doug for lunch at the mall near his work.  Then Amos had a great time playing at the play area.
*We were spiritually uplifted as we watched and listened to General Conference.
*Dallin had a day off school and so Melissa took the boys to Cabela’s to see the animals.  That night Melissa went into labor and the boys had a sleepover at the neighbor’s.
*After a long labor we finally welcomed Kian Washington Hansen into our family.  We were so excited that he was here and healthy.  Dallin and Amos couldn’t wait to meet their baby brother.
*The boys enjoyed visiting mom and Kian at the hospital.  They loved holding Kian.
*Amos was excited to help bring Kian home from the hospital.
*We loved having Kian in our home and getting to know him.
*We loved having Doug at home more often for paternity leave, it was nice to have him help around the house and the boys loved playing with daddy.
*Doug put together furniture and Amos loved helping Daddy with the tools.
*Kian had jaudice so he spent as much time as possible in the sunlight and he had a couple of check-ups.
*Kian loved his first bath as much as any newborn.  He really loved cubbling up in his towel afterwards.
*The boys adjusted well to having Kian in our family.  They haven’t been jealous and have always been concerned about making Kian happy.  Amos loves to get things for Kian and Dallin loves to hold Kian.
*Dallin and Amos had a lot of fun making Halloween cupcakes with sprinkles.
*Duke started playing basketball and Kian was introduced to the family cheering for Duke.
*Dallin’s school had a Trunk-or-Treat, the boys loved dressing up and getting candy.  Dallin loved picking out a book at the book fair at school.
*We took the family to a pumpkin patch, the boys loved feeding the animals, going on a hayride, playing in the hay, and picking out a pumpkin.
*Daddy helped the boys make sugar cookies and we had a lot of fun decorating Halloween cookies.
*Daddy took the boys to the open house at the fire station and a trunk or treat with our church.
*Grandma and Grandpa Hansen came to celebrate Halloween with us and meet Kian.
*Dallin was an orange Triceratops, Amos was a Puppy, and Kian was a Tiger for Halloween this year.
