We are, indeed, still alive. Sorry for the lack of blog posts this year. Hopefully I will get better here on out. I'll just briefly give you a little update on what we have been doing this year. We enjoyed the last few months in North Carolina with a lot of family fun. We went to the beach, Duke sporting events, the museum, Duke Gardens, and Doug attended as many Duke basketball games as he could. We loved our experience at Duke and will probably visit as often as we can, especially during basketball season. I will probably miss living 2 hours away from the beach the most. Doug will miss going to Duke Basketball games the most. Dallin will probably miss going to Duke (I know this because he often asks about Duke or says "go Duke basketball game") the most.
The highlight of the year was when Doug graduated from Law School. We are so proud of him and all he accomplished while in Law School. He worked very hard and made as much time for Dallin and Melissa as he could. Melissa was told she doesn't have pancreatitis anymore, so we have enjoyed that. Most of this year was spent preparing for our move to Texas. We enjoyed a fun road trip to our new home in Dallas, with a fun stop in Memphis to see our good friends, the Terrys. We were very excited to reach our new home and have loved getting settled in.
We love living here in Texas. We have gone camping, to the rodeo, a Rangers baseball game, swimming as often as we can, playing in the sand, going on walks and playing at the park. Dallin and Melissa have enjoyed having play dates with Brooke, Sophia, and Baby Elena. We had a wonderful 4th of July (which is one of my favorite holidays). We went to a breakfast and swimming in the morning, the park for a picnic and games in the afternoon, and then we went to our good friends in the evening for a cookout and swimming. We ended the evening joining them for watching fireworks. We had a blast. We are enjoying the summer as much as we can, although we don't see Doug much these days (he's busy studying for the bar). We love it here and Dallin and Melissa are excited for Doug to take the bar so he can spend time with us again. We love our new ward. We have both talked in church and have callings, Melissa is in the Primary and Doug is in the Elders Quorum Presidency.

Melissa-
It is so good to hear from you and hear that everything is great! I hope you are feeling better and we miss having you in NC.
Yay for updating! I've been watching your blog for a while, hoping you'd update. I realized a little late that when I last e-mailed you (an inexcusably late reply I do know), you would have been right in the middle of moving. I'm glad to hear things are going well. :D
