Melissa and the boys went to Utah a few days before Doug. The boys loved flying on the airplane and they were so excited to see everyone. They loved playing at Grandma's and the dog in the backyard. Uncle Bryan brought his Dump truck by and Amos loved going for a ride around the circle.
We all got our hair cuts. Dallin did very good and Amos had a rough time. He forgave his Aunt Jamie though, he was crying so bad she cut Dallin's hair so we could get him to fall asleep enough to finish. The boys loved playing in the sand outside and with cousins. Dallin loved having Blake sleepover and those two were pretty inseparable.
They went to Doug's parent's house a couple of days later when Doug joined them in Utah. We celebrated Doug's 30th birthday. We spent the morning at the aquarium with Doug's family. Everyone had a great time seeing all the sea animals. The boys loved it.
We went to Leatherby's for lunch. Aunt Amanda played Life is a Highway on the juckbox and Amos started dancing in his highchair and saying "car, car". After we were done eating we went back to Doug's parent's, opened some presents, rested, and played.
That evening Melissa planned a surprise birthday party with the help of many. We had lots of food and lots of people come to celebrate with us. We had a lot of family and Doug's friends from high school come. Dallin requested we had some party games and the kids love the pinata and pin the tail on the donkey. It was such a fun way to celebrate while we were in Utah.
We had fun visiting with the Hansen's. We were able to go to the temple with Doug's sister Amanda. We took family pictures at Wheeler Farm. The boys had fun walking around wheeler farm and playing on the playground afterwards. Doug's family came into town to visit on Sunday after church. We went to City Creek Mall and while everyone was shopping the boys loved playing at the dinosaur play area. The boys loved looking at the fish while we walked around. We went to Kneaders for lunch that day and it was so yummy that Melissa made Doug take her again the next day.
Before we went to the Washington's we spent the day at BYU. Doug loved showing the boys the campus and which building he had classes in. The boys enjoyed going to the Science building and seeing all the fun stuff. The highlight for the boys was probably the Bean Museum. They both loved seeing all the different animals and playing at the museum. Dallin did a little preschool scavenger hunt and he loved finding all the animals on the list. We ended our outing with a trip to the creamery. The ice cream was delicious but the boys both picked out a donut. It was fun spending time together as a family.
The boys loved spending time with his cousins when we got to the Washington's. He had another sleepover with Blake and he even got to sleep at Blake's house one night. We were able to attend Lexie's baptism (I forgot to take a picture with her). Amos loved playing with Lexie's dog at her house after the baptism. He was pretty much by the kennel the whole time we were at Aunt Angie's house.
We were able to see my Uncle Steve while we were Utah. He stopped to stay at my parents on his way up to Washington. We were glad to see him and all the kids loved the video's he was showing on the computer. We took the kids to the dinosaur museum after school one day. The boys had so much fun at the museum with cousins. Doug left on Sunday so he could get back to work. The boys and Melissa stayed a couple more days so they could celebrate Blake's birthday at kangaroo zoo during the day and a party that night. We had a great time in Utah.
