4th of July 2012

We had a fun and simple 4th of July.  We started off the morning going to our ward breakfast.  Then we went swimming at our community pool and everyone had a lot of fun.  The boys played outside while Doug and Melissa got lunch ready.  All the boys watched the Tour de France while Melissa took a much needed nap.  Then we had a simple yet delicious dinner.
One of Melissa's favorite thing about the 4th is dressing up in red, white and blue.  The boys looked good dressed for the holiday.
This year Doug and Dallin picked up a small package of fireworks and we lit them in our driveway.  The boys had a lot of fun watching them and Doug let Dallin shoot the confetti gun.  Dallin did a lot better with the noise of the fireworks so close than we thought he would.  Amos was so cute watching the fireworks.  He would wave his flag during the fireworks that weren't noisy and then bury his head in my shoulder when they were loud.
When all the fireworks cleaned up we went to out to watch some fireworks.  The boys had so much fun playing with pop-its while we waited.  Amos had a lot of fun this time, we did them for New Years Eve and they weren't a hit then.  While Amos had fun with the pop-its, he did not like the glo-sticks at all.  Dallin on the other hand loved the pop-its and the glo-sticks.  We loved watching the fireworks and had a really good day.
