Doug's New Toy

We have officially began our path to Dallas, TX for the summer. Doug and I decided we needed to get a place to live for the summer. We looked for apartments and stayed up rather late one night to find the place we thought we be a good place to live. I called the next day to get everything underway. We found a 1 bedroom apartment (I'm sure Dallin won't mind sleeping in the laundry room for the summer, in his pack 'n play) where they would allow 2 adults with 1 child. We were very grateful to find a 1 bedroom apartment for the summer and the best part is that it's on the first floor. I was very grateful that I wouldn't have to find a way to carry Dallin, the stroller and the groceries all the way up to the 3rd floor.

Another great part about our apartment is that they have a pool, and a playground within the walls of the complex. Dallin and I should be very entertained during the day while Doug goes to work each day. Our apartment is in Richardson, TX which is about a 30 min DART ride (Dallas public transportation) to downtown Dallas. We decided that it would be good for us to fully understand what the commute will be like if we get a return offer. Also Doug will be working in Richardson for at least 3 weeks so we decided it would be the best option. Also, our apartment is only 12 minutes away from the temple and 4 minutes to church, another selling point. We went to the town of Richardson's website and found swimming lessons for Dallin, which made me very excited. We also looked up the stores in the area and Target is just down the road from us. We are very excited about our summer housing option.

Another step in preparing for our move was figuring out whether to rent furniture or buy furniture for the summer. I also had to calculate the housewares what we would need and whether or not we could bring it with us or buy it in Dallas. We decided to rent furniture and bring as much housewares as we could. This decision came after much research and putting the stroller and pack 'n play in the car and figuring out how many boxes we could fit in our car. I get to pack all our housewares needs in 5 boxes. We had already decided to purchase a car topper to pack our clothes and soft things. Doug was very excited to go and buy the car topper the other day. Doug went to Target to pick up something and came home with the car topper. He was very excited to get to play with his new toy. He pulled it out of the box and layed it out in the living room and decided that it would work well for what we needed.

We are getting very excited for our little adventure this summer and I can't believe it is less than a month away.
