Time Out!

Not happy about time out.
Becoming better as time out was almost over.
Getting tickled by Daddy when time out was over.
When I took Dallin to the doctor Friday she told me that I could start a modified time out. I was very excited because he has really enjoyed hitting lately and we didn't know what to do about it. It was nice to hear that he was old enough to understand time out. When he does something he's not supposed to we hold him and hold his hands if he kicks we put his legs in between ours so he can't move and count to 30. As soon as the 30 seconds is over we love him and tell him not to hit or whatever it was he was in time out for. My doctor told me that we are good about doing this is that by the time he's 18 months we could have him sit in time out and he would stay for 1 1/2 minutes. So we tried it out. The first day he was put in time out a lot and he did alright. He would cry, but he was okay. Yesterday sometimes he would just smile as I counted. Although last night when I decided to take pictures of his time out routine he wasn't very happy. Hopefully he was learning that he wasn't supposed to play with the cds on the entertainment center. I feel like as the first day he needed time out more than he has the last couple of days, so maybe it's working. We sure love him and hope he knows we're not trying to be mean.
