To celebrate Memorial Day we went to the Sixth Floor Museum with Doug's parents and Amanda. For those of you who don't know what that is. It is located in the old Texas School Book Depository, and the sixth floor is where Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly fired the shots that killed JFK. It has now been turned into a museum honoring Kennedy's life and administration and presents information regarding his assassination. We enjoyed the opportunity to honor a President on Memorial Day and reflect on the sacrifices that so many men and women have made on behalf of this nation.
Melissa, Doug, Grandma Hansen, Aunt Amanda and Dallin, with the Grassy Knoll in the background.
Our cute little family, a few feet from where the second gunman stood (if you believe the conspiracy theorists, as Doug does).
Here's Dallin, just being cute.
Dallin had a blast running around. He was so excited to get out of his stroller. While we were in the museum he did a wonderful job staying in his stroller and eating treats when he got fussy. He loved it when he was finally able to run around. He walked up and down the hill and enjoyed chasing after the birds. The next picture is of Mel, Doug's dad, as he is trying to figure out where the shots really came from. Mel was very excited to go to the Sixth Floor Museum because he remembers as a boy watching all the news footage while he was in the hospital after having surgery.
