Birmingham Zoo

We took Dallin to the zoo in the middle of our road trip. Dallin had a blast and it was good for us to do something fun as family, after a very long semester at law school. Dallin loved running around and looking at all the animals. He called most of the animals baby, which we thought was cute. I'm sure one day he'll learn that they aren't all babies but when we looked at a small monkey I would say, "Yes, Dallin it's a baby monkey." He was sure cute and he did some things for the first time at the zoo. He didn't call all the animals baby, when we would see a bird, he said bird (that was the first time he's done that). He also told us what a duck says, when we went to look at the ducks he pointed and said "Quack, Quack." We were so proud of our little boy. He is always learning new things. I sure love watching him grow. They had a little water area where he could run around and get wet. At first he was a little nervous, but it didn't take long before he loved getting wet and running into the water. He had a blast and didn't really want to leave the water area. After we left the water we let him pet a little goat, he was a little nervous about being so close and I'm sure he held onto Doug pretty tight. Dallin was a little upset that we wouldn't let him go back and play in the water as we were leaving. As soon as we got in the car he took a wonderful nap, he was very tired after all the fun. We had such a wonderful time.

Below is a video of Dallin in the water. It was at the beginning so he was still a little nervous about the water, but you can tell he was enjoying himself running around. It is a little long, but I'm sure his grandparents will enjoy watching it over and over.
