On Saturday we went as a family to the Wildflower Festival here in Richardson, TX. It was a party with all kinds of people, music, activities, and things to buy. We had so much fun. First we took Dallin to the Kidz Korner, where they had lots of activities for children. We went into a butterfly tent and I showed Dallin the butterflies. He just kept looking and pointing at them and seemed to like it. Then, we let Dallin play a game where you toss a bean-bag butterfly into a net. Dallin did very good at getting up close and throwing the butterfly in. He then enjoyed taking them out and putting them back in, it was so cute. He also did the lady bug toss, which was way too old for him but he tried to stick them in and did well, he just couldn't toss them in. They had a little petting zoo for children, which Dallin loved. He just went right over and started to pet the goats. I didn't think he would like it so much because he didn't seem to enjoy it at the zoo in Birmingham, but I was sure wrong. He loved it and enjoyed being around all the animals. Dallin can say "quack, quack," but he kept pointing at the goats saying "quack, quack." It was really funny, at least they did have some ducks so we kept telling him that "the ducks are over there." He had so much fun he didn't want to leave. We then walked around and Doug got me some sunglasses at one of the booths. Then we ate some really good food and walked around some more. We were able to listen to a couple songs performed by the Blue Oyster Cult, which made Doug's dad jealous. We had a great time together as a family, and continue to enjoy our stay in Texas.

Hey! I'm glad to here you made it safe to Texas and are already exploring. It was so hot here yesterday, but I thought about you in Texas and didn't feel so bad for myself! :) With as much as that boy of yours likes the outdoors, I hope you can stay cool this summer!
Looks like you all had a blast. I love going to things like that, especially when they are very kid friendly.
