St. Nikolaus Day

Every year the Hansen family celebrate Sinterklaas day (Holland holiday) which takes place on Dec. 5 and this year Doug decided that we should add St. Nikolaus Day (German holiday) to our tradition.  Doug's dad served his mission in Holland and so every year they buy Dutch chocolate's and treats and send them to us for the holiday.  In Holland Sinterklaas comes on Dec. 5.  In Germany St. Nikolaus comes on the morning of Dec. 6 so this year we opened the package in the morning along with some Christmas books and other things we put together.  Dallin loved all the chocolate!!  He loved waking up and finding chocolate under the tree.  When we opened the package from Grandma and Grandpa he got out the chocolate Santa and opened it all by himself, he put it right in his mouth and said YUM!  We love all the Dutch chocolate and treats, Thank you very much.  When we were done spoiling our breakfast we headed to a German cafe for breakfast.  We had a wonderful morning and plan to create a new tradition at our house.
