Happy Halloween!!

For Halloween this year Dallin was an adorable German boy.
At first I was a little unsure of how Dallin would feel about wearing a costume. Thursday he didn't want to have anything to do with the hat so I didn't think he would wear it but he did. He was one handsome little German boy, if I do say so myself. He had a lot of fun this Halloween and would tell us "Happy Halloween" . . . so cute.
I guess having to dress up my little as a German boy made it easy for me to dress up, since normally it's just not my thing. I had this Asian shirt thanks to my brother Bryan, and it fit me perfectly so I decided to be an Asian woman. My plan was to have Doug dress up from another country but he came up with another idea on Halloween. Doug had gone to vote so he had a sticker that said I voted today. He got this clever idea to dress up as a zombie that had been registered to vote by ACORN. I thought it was funny and he loved getting his costume ready.
We went to a wonderful Halloween party with lots of yummy chili and food. Dallin was able to play with some friends. Doug and I were able to socialize a little. We all had a great time. Then we headed to a neighborhood to take Dallin trick-or-treating with two of his friends. At the first house Dallin wouldn't let me put him down until the lady came out with the candy and I told him he could have some. Then he wasn't shy about going up to doors and saying "trick-or-treat." He had lots of fun and he even said "thank you." It was so cute watching my little boy doing something that big kids do. As soon as we were on our way home I looked in the backseat and Dallin had his pumpkin filled with candy on his lap. He was looking at all his candy, he looked so cute. He was able to have his first sucker and enjoyed it very much. However, he would lick it and kept putting it back in his pumpkin with the other candy so everything was sticky.
Doug wanted to help Dallin sort out his candy, you know put the chocolate in a pile, hard candy in a pile, and so on. Dallin had other plans for his candy and just wanted it in one be pile. We then let Dallin have some more candy and enjoyed watching Disney's Blackbeard's Ghost and then put Dallin to bed way past his bedtime. We had a wonderful Halloween, much better than I thought it would be.

Oh my goodness, Melissa, he is so adorable! I love the costume, and I think the hat totally makes the outfit! I'm impressed that you and Doug dressed up too.

P.S. Thank you so much for the birthday card! You are seriously the coolest!

What a cutie. I love the costume. My kids did the sorting of the candy when they got home too.
