One of my favorite traditions from growing up was the Easter Egg Hunt with my cousins. So this year we decided to take Dallin to a park for an Easter Egg Hunt. It took him awhile before he seemed interested in finding eggs (maybe he's still a little young), but we had fun anyway.
Dallin really wanted to play basketball with the boys at the basketball court. We forgot his ball and he let us know that he really wanted to play with one by walking around saying "ba-ball" over and over again. He would run towards every ball he saw. Next time we better make sure that the ball in the pile of stuff to go on the picnic actually makes it to the car.
Dallin would find an egg and say "ball" pick it up and throw it. He was very cute and enjoyed eating the treats inside. We don't let Dallin have candy so his eggs were filled with kids cookies, dried fruit, fruit snacks, and cereal.
We had a picnic after the Easter Egg Hunt. We stopped at Subway for sandwiches and brought chips and grapes. We brought some turkey, grapes, and the eggs Dallin found for his lunch. However, he enjoyed stealing the chips from the adults and quite enjoyed eating them.
Dallin enjoyed emptying his Easter basket when we got home from the park and again right before bed. Dallin played with eggs for a long time, they were good entertainment.

It is always hard to be away from family when you are use to certain traditions. I always felt so left out when we were in Indiana and all of my Long cousins were having the family Christmas party. That is one of the disadvantages to living away. However, it is fun to start your own famiy traditions. Sara was the same way at the egg hunt last year. This year was a different story. She knew that each egg held a treat and she wanted to get as many as possible.
