I meant to post these a while ago, unfortunately I've been a little slow. Dallin turned one in January. Along with turning one he crossed a couple of large milestones. The first being weaned from the bottle. When he was 11 months old I started giving him formula in his straw cup at least once a day. Then when he started drinking whole milk (he started drinking whole milk a little before his first birthday, when we started to run out of formula, oops) I tried to only give it to him in his straw cup (didn't always happen, but I tried). The day after his first birthday I just didn't give him a bottle and he never complained. I've considered that a wonderful blessing.

Another great milestone that he passed was on his birthday we turned his car seat forward facing. I had planned to wait until we moved to Dallas to turn him around because I had heard it was safer for them to be rear facing as long as possible. So I thought that it would be nice for him to have a nice change like that before we drove across the country. While we went home to Utah after Christmas Dallin was spoiled because Grandma and Grandpa Washington only had a forward facing seat. Needless to say the car ride became a fight when we got back to North Carolina so I turned him around before we went anywhere on his birthday. This also made our trip to the beach a lot more enjoyable.
