We left Dallas Friday August 8th after the car was loaded when Doug got home from work. We drove to Little Rock, AR and stayed overnight. Saturday we headed to Memphis, TN to visit our good friends Aaron, Lezlie, Addie, and Aiden Terry. We met the Terry's our first year of law school at Duke. The Terry's were in medical school and moved to Tennessee for Residency. We were so excited to see our friends again. Dallin enjoyed having other kids to play with. Aiden and Dallin really enjoyed playing together. Saturday we enjoyed the tour of there new house, dinner at a really pizza place, and watching the Olympics.
Sunday we went to church, Dallin didn't do so good in Nursery so we took him for a walk outside around the Memphis Temple (the Terry's church is in the same parking lot). Dallin really enjoyed looking at the Temple and kept pointing to Angel Moroni.
Monday Doug wasn't feeling very good so he stayed home in hopes to get feeling better while Lezlie and I took the kids to the Memphis Zoo. Dallin loved the zoo, of course, he enjoys being around animals. He got to ride on the Carousel, he was so excited the whole time we were moving and wouldn't let go of the pole when the ride stopped. Then Dallin got to go ride on a train and see farm animals, he loved looking for all the animals. We had a fun day at the zoo and saw lots of fun animals including a Panda bear. Monday afternoon was spent watching the Olympics and the kids napping and playing. That night we went to downtown Memphis and saw a Red Birds baseball game. We had a great time at the game. Doug was able to get Dallin a baseball to bring home. Dallin loved playing with his game and was so proud to have a ball.
Tuesday morning we took a Memphis Tour because the weather didn't cooperate with our plans. We went and drove past all of the cool Memphis sights. The last stop on our tour was Mud Island, an Island on the Mississippi River. The Island has a replica of the Mississippi River and Dallin enjoyed walking through the river. The river ends with the Gulf of Mexico with Memphis behind it and that is where the last family picture was taken. We had such a good visit in Memphis. It was fun to see our friends and relax a little bit. It was also nice that Doug didn't have to drive while he wasn't feeling well. Thanks to the Terry's for a wonderful visit.

Busy weekend! Looks like you had tons of fun though. The zoo is definitely more fun when the kids are so excited. Pretty cool that they had swimming there too, that's a good idea!
